The Hippocrate Award competition is much more than a call for nominations: it is a true springboard for those who are transforming our healthcare system. It celebrates innovation at every stage of the service continuum, whether clinical, organizational, technological, or human.
Year after year, projects led by dedicated teams are rolled out on a large scale. To inspire you—and perhaps encourage you to submit your application by June 9, 2025—discover the stories of five teams who have experienced the Hippocrate adventure!
“Every project submitted can be a source of inspiration.” – Dan É. Gabay, President and CEO, CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal
Even projects that don’t win can have a tangible impact. As Mr. Gabay points out in this video, many innovations submitted to the Hippocrate Award have subsequently been adopted and adapted in other settings. The key? Daring to share what works.
“There are other projects like ours, all across Quebec, that deserve to be known, recognized, and rolled out on a large scale.” – Erin Cook, Deputy President and CEO, CIUSSS du Centre-Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal
The home hospital project of the CIUSSS du Centre-Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal, coordinated by Ms. Erin Cook, received the Grand Prix Hippocrate. Today, this compassionate and integrated initiative is being rolled out across Quebec, supported by an investment of over $100 million.
“We figured we had nothing to lose, and in the end, we gained everything!” – Marie Lavoie, co-founder, CœurWay
Winner of the Grand Prize in the Emerging category, the CœurWay team saw their project acquired by a strategic partner. The recognition they received opened new doors: media coverage, visibility within the healthcare network, and accelerated impact.
“The Hippocrate Award motivated our teams and gave our clinic a provincial reach.” – Dr. Marc Bilodeau, President and CEO, CISSS de l’Outaouais
Thanks to the competition, the CISSS de l’Outaouais musculoskeletal (MSQ) clinic has gained recognition, reached more than 1,200 patients, and strengthened the engagement of its teams. A concrete example of local innovation that has truly stood out.
“The Hippocrate Award is not an end in itself, but a starting point.” – Patrice Allibert, President and CEO, OxyNov
For this startup born at the Quebec University Institute of Cardiology and Pulmonology (IUCPQ), winning the Hippocrate Award served as a strategic catalyst: clinical validation, increased visibility, access to new networks, and accelerated deployment of their technology.
For its 15th edition, the Hippocrate Award will feature even more finalist teams. Whether your initiative is in its early stages or rapidly expanding, the competition offers you a unique showcase, and the awards gala promises a memorable evening of networking and celebration on October 16!
Submit your project by June 9 at 11:59 p.m.
