A new season has begun!<\/p>\n

The 2024 season of Petapan<\/a> launched on May 10 following the unveiling of interior renovations carried out based on user feedback and suggestions from last season to make the interior of the motorhome more functional. Partner users were also approached to help lead the 2024 programming.<\/p>\n

More and more users are being reached through the Petapan project, and the range of services is well known to everyone thanks to the Petapan \u2013 Mobile Intervention<\/em><\/a> Facebook page. With the exterior design modified to display two works created by users, it is easy to recognize Petapan in downtown and thus find your way there to receive services.<\/p>\n

Following the award ceremony, an evening event was organized for all partners involved in the project. Petapan is highly valued by its partners, and more than thirty professionals from the healthcare network and various community organizations volunteered to contribute to the service offering last summer. For the 2023 season, three new partners have joined Petapan\u2019s service offering.<\/p>\n

All the partners involved share the same goal: to put the user at the center of our work\u2014reaching out to them to build connections and establish a relationship of trust. Last summer, the project reached 838 different people (users, residents, business owners, and others). For users, Petapan offers a safe and confidential space where they can talk with staff or simply spend time doing crafts. For citizens and business owners, Petapan allows them to interact with the staff involved and witness the positive benefits of a healthy and welcoming community.<\/p>\n

Following the Hippocrates Award, the project was presented at the Ending Homelessness Conference held in Halifax in November 2023. The project was also part of a presentation given at the Intersection Seminar in Nicolet. Various regions have reached out to the CISSS de l\u2019Abitibi-T\u00e9miscamingue to learn more about the project and explore how to implement it in other regions.<\/p>\n
